STRUCTURAL TEST BENCH
Applications
The structural test bench is used to apply the static loads on a Train Car body shell to verify that the designed Carbody meets its static strength requirements in accordance with EN12663-1.
The hydraulic actuators are used to apply the compression load of 200 Ton and traction load of 100 Ton on the Carbody structure. They are fixed in between the mechanical frame of test bench and Car body. The load from the actuator to the Car body is transferred through special tooling (customized for different tests) with an integrated load cell to measure the applied load. The controller will pass the signal to the hydraulic powerpack to operate and apply the necessary hydraulic pressure controlled through proportional relief valve by taking feedback from the load cell on the load applied. The piston movement of the hydraulic actuator is controlled by powerpack and the load applied through the actuator system is monitored by controller through the feedback from load cell. Complete system operated and controlled using PLC and Scada Controlled system for synchronous movement comparing the load cell values for smooth loading and unloading operation with all the safety features incorporated considering the equipment and Man Safety.
The system is designed to carry various test with different input modes and load required :
- Coupler compression Test
- Buffer compression / Tension test
- Waist rail compression / Tension Test
- Bogies Simulation test
